10 Questions with Caroline
Meet the lovely Caroline Walton, a new member to our team after completing our Personal Stylist course last month. She has so much to offer and with her unique sense of style, we couldn’t wait to find out a little more about her.
Q1. You have recently trained with The image Consulting Company, how did you find the course and what did you most enjoy?
A. All of it – it was pure indulgence for me as doing the course was something I had dreamed of doing for along time. I researched a few courses, but after going to an event led by The TiCC, I knew I had to do this one. As I work 4 days a week, I chose to do the bespoke course with Emmeline on a Friday. I stretched the modules over two months, which was really good. It meant I could consolidate my learning in between modules.
Q2. What made you sign up to do the course?
A. I really liked the pragmatic, flexible approach working with Emmeline, doing the bespoke course offered me (see above answer). I also know that I could easily work with Emmeline as she has such a warm and enthusiastic approach. We immediately hit it off.
Q3. What do you love most about being a stylist?
Being able to make a difference, helping women to see that they don’t need to be perfect models to look and feel amazing. I’m an everyday person myself with the same hang-ups as lots of people. I wanted to bring real style to real women. It’s wonderful seeing women look at themselves and say “wow – this looks really good”. Nothing beats that buzz.
Q4. How would you describe your style?
A. Mixed! I do favour an edgy style, however, and I’m not a fan of an overly feminine look. I wouldn’t normally go for flowy, floral dresses that are popular this season, for instance – but never say never! I tend to wear what I like and I don’t really care what other people think or about following trends.
Q5. What is your favourite SS18 trend?
A. Tailored shorts. I’m on the look out for the perfect pair, that I could wear for work or play. Worn with a crisp, smart shirt and a pair of heels and a jacket, not a tee, so it didn’t look like I was about to do the gardening!
Q6. Where do you shop the most?
High street mainly. I love French Connection and Zara, but I recently bought a skirt from the Danish brand Samsoe and Samsoe which I’ve fallen in love with.
Q7. Tell us something that we don’t already know about you…
A. I bared all for my page on TiCC so you can read all about me there.
Q8. Describe your perfect weekend….
A. Being at home with my family. My life is so busy, that I love weekends to relax; going to the park with my children, as well as getting some time to myself either with a run or an outdoor swim. Then rounding it all off with a few glasses of wine with my husband on the sofa watching a movie! Sounds boring to most, but it’s my idea of bliss!
Q9. Where in the world is your favourite place?
A. Zell am See – it’s in Austria and it’s where my family are. My mum was born there, although she moved to England when she met my Dad in the early 60s. We go every year in the Summer to see family. It’s just so beautiful; swimming in the lake, gorging on Wienerschitzel! My kids and husband love it there too.
Q10. i if for?
A. Invent – Invent and re-invent yourself, your look and your style. I’ve just started my journey as a stylist and I’m excited to see where it will take me.
