A guide to updating your spring wardrobe.
Oh, spring how you have been missed! Is there a better feeling than the buzz of light nights and warm mornings? However, with the weather change, it’s also time to switch over from our cosy wardrobes to our lighter and brighter pieces for the new season! Whilst we embrace the new season I’ve put together a little guide on how to easily update your wardrobe this spring from us stylists. I thought nothing better than bringing together some of our amazing community members to highlight their best ways of an easy transition into the new season
A piece from Alexandra Standley at Luxe Leopard Lifestyle.
“Whenever I’m thinking about transitioning outfits into a new season, I always advise my clients to start with their own wardrobe. It’s easy to get swept up in the latest trends and end up buying things similar to what you have, or that don’t suit your style personality & body shape. Always start by reviewing your wardrobe and then make a wish list for the season of things that are missing. Some Spring wardrobe staples for me are – a utility jacket, some blue straight leg jeans, a cotton blouse or white shirt, a trench coat, a floral print dress and some white or pale trainers. You can then layer on from there with some trend items. My favourite SS21 trends are colour pop, florals and relaxed denim. I always start my search on eBay, as trends are so circular, you’ll often bag a bargain, new with tags for a fraction of the cost of buying it new, making a sustainable purchase too!”

The weather can be unpredictable in spring, so invest in good layering pieces that will stand the test of time. A trench coat in the length and style that suits you will become one of the best wardrobe investments you ever make! Something nice to add to your wardrobe this spring would be a pretty bag. We’ve had a year without bags and I miss them! Go for something beaded and try high-low dressing by styling it with your jeans and an open-toed block heel for the day.

If I had to give you only 3 simple tips on how to be Spring wardrobe ready I would say before you buy anything new. shop that wardrobe of yours first and look for:
Something colourful, pink would be perfect, it could be anything from an accessory like a belt a pair of earring, a bag or a scarf to embrace the colour trend!
Something denim, not necessary and not only jeans, look for that lighter denim shirt you might have in your wardrobe and wear it on top of dresses or open as a jacket on all outfits.
On chilly days or for your al fresco dining, add a trench coat, the bigger the better!

Finally, a piece from me…Bethany Rose! Here is my low dow for the best pieces on updating your spring wardrobe. So my main advice for spring is to look at your capsule pieces that go with everything! A denim jacket is a must-have in the spring capsule, especially with new denim styles booming. Personally, I really feel for a light wash denim jacket but with added details like studs to edge up the garment. It wouldn’t be spring without transitioning out of heavy boots to something lighter. I always opt for a gold sandal as it is a great way to brighten all your outfits with a metallic gleam. Of course, an eye-catching print has made its way into my selection! This year I’m going for the playsuit an all-around piece for summer fun but equally a perfect garment to bring into the next season with go-to layering techniques. Not to mention accessories! They make all the difference, look at your sunglasses collection for a chic update on all your looks.
