Colour Focus: Pink

Colour Focus: Pink

Pink is a colour that sometimes gets a bad rep with many avoiding the shade completely worried that they may enter Barbie territory or look like an over grown pop princess. However, the pretty hue is huge for Spring 2017 and we for one are delighted.

The scrumptious shade can take on many personalities with the varying tones on offer. Think metallic sheen, a dusty mauve, a pretty blush, a fun bubblegum or a hot fuchsia. Depending on your preference you can certainly find a pink that suits your style that adds sophistication, elegance or an edge to your outfit. The shade can be cool, pretty, quirky and fun, it all just depends on the item you choose and how you wear it.

Our top high street picks certainly demonstrate the different kinds of shades and styles available. I’m definitely crushing on the Topshop puffer jacket and those pleated arms on the Oliver Bonas top are a work of art! It’s already in the checkout!

Okay, so we don’t expect you to leave the house head to toe in pink anytime soon (it’s totally acceptable if you want to) yet it is really easy to inject a pop of colour to your outfit.

Simply add a touch of pink to your wardrobe edit with a scarf, nail varnish, lip gloss or gloves to begin with. Or if you are feeling adventurous wear the hot pink pleated skirt or rock the metallic blazer with a pair of jeans and heels. The Bardot dress is the perfect number for the wedding season – right?

Let’s get technical. The warmer skin tones can pull off the vibrant, fuchsia pinks whereas the cooler skin tones should go for a blush shade. If you need a helping hand choosing the right pink for you please get in touch!
