Dress Yourself Stylishly In A Few Simple Steps
Dressing stylishly doesn’t have to be a super considered effort to get out the house looking good. If you missed our style demos at Bristol Fashion Week keep reading…………..
Your style is your choice. It comes from within and can only be discovered by you. Sometimes we don’t know how to be stylish, but sometimes just a few simple additions go a long way to helping you feel a million dollars when you walk out the door. Even if it is just a new pair of shoes!
So consider these little extra’s in your life:
Always accessorise; Scarves (winter – great!), Necklaces, Stacking bracelets, Rings, Hats – a few little accessories over a basic outfit can make as much or as little statement as you feel comfortable with. Oliver Bonas has a range of fantatsic options.
Go for more than just basics: These items are usually the most worn items in the wardrobe, and generally aren’t big show stoppers, perhaps they’re plain colours or easy prints. Can one of them be replaced with something a little more out of the comfort zone? Replace one item every day with something not your average and slowly your habit forming self will release more creativity than you thought possible. Prints are always a good way to rev up your style, equally those accessories add style without causing a fuss.
Add a heel: Most of us (we’ve done our research!) feel better when we are wearing a heel. Some of us can’t for many reasons, but often we feel more feminine. So consider heels don’t have to be stilettos. Trends have moved back to the block heel and most high street retailers offer more comfort than ever before. Wedges are proving popular. So add a little height, hold your head up, shoulders back and stand tall. Take a look at Dune‘s amazing collection.
Replace a cardigan with a jacket.
Sometimes dressing a little smarter can make us feel a little extra stylish. Perhaps you’re on the school run in a piece of knitwear that has seen better days – consider replacing with a nipped in waist jacket or coat.
