How to ‘ReThread’ your wardrobe and why its so important?
In a world full of overconsumption and a time when fashion turnover is that his highest. We have the pioneering likes of amazing new companies like ReThread retraining our conscious minds. In this post I will review ReThread and why I think they are game-changers in our current climate.
Anybody else feel that you’re still doing the wrong thing by chucking clothes out? Well, that goes for a lot of us fashion lovers. What’s the right way to buy and cleanse these days in a tactile step to improve our future? Welcome…ReThread. Websites like ReThread really give us that positive sense of reinvention with how they help us stay or in fact become conscious when we are clearing out our wardrobes. With ever-developing fashion services and living in a virtual world we have the thanks of new arising companies like rethread to give us everything that we have ever wanted when cleansing the wardrobe.
The low down…
So what is ReThread you ask? Well, it’s a resell service. All you have to do is order a free selling kit. Fill it up with your preloved clothing items. Send it off with your free postage label. Then simply wait till the cash flows in when your items have been sold. Great! Particularly good if, like me, you’ve got a rail of clothes destined to be sold which you never get round to!
- ReThread send a bag for you to fill with up to 15 quality items and you return for free
- They sell your items on Depop or eBay and give you a cut of the profit
- Anything that doesn’t sell you pay £6 to have returned or it goes to charity
- They only accept items of ‘Zara’ standard or above. Which in my opinion means other high street brands like Topshop, M&S etc because we all know Zara quality isn’t always exactly the highest quality. However, they don’t accept these high street brands or ASOS, Next etc.
- Once your items sell they payout.
As a stylist, this is an amazing tool that you can be using and it’s something that you should educate and inform your clients as this is the way forward. You can be the pioneer to change. As for our lovely clients hello to you all, this is a little taste of what you can get when you book a personal stylist. we can help you with your wardrobe journey with our confidence-boosting services.
So an overview of ReThread. I think they’re a game-changer in the industry in the sense they look after your selling for you…great. I’m not saying that we couldn’t do it ourselves, I mean we could sell the items in our own time on sites such as Depop or eBay but let’s face it we all want the easy ride in life and selling clothes is not for everyone. So making sure that we have websites like ReThread is crucial to keep us in check with our ever-growing sustainability views & ethics.
