How to: Wear Festive Accessories And Still Feel Stylish
Around this time we always like to catch up with our stylists to see how they’re styling their favourite festive accessories, and what advice they’d give to those of us looking for a dash of inspiration.
It can be hard to know where the line between festive and gimicky is, so here are some experts to guide you!
I think there’s a few ways to style your outfit to make it festive without being tacky (unless you want to go full on reindeer/Santa festive!) you can do it through sparkle – whether that be some glitter/lurex accessories such as hat/gloves/scarf or some star shaped earrings that will last beyond Christmas or a bejewelled headband. The other way is through colour, why not add a pop of red or green to your accessories to make them festive and brighten up your day. Or I like to be creative with my nails and add some sparkle that way!
Christmassey colours speak volumes and of course you can wear the particular shades that work best for you – plum instead of tomato red or sage instead of Christmas green for example. Then just add sparkle – a soft sweater with sequin detail, some glittery tights, nails and jewellery with more sparkle than we usually wear for the rest of the year can all give that nod to the festive season. Rather than layer it all on at once, I’d choose one or two areas to embellish with festive bling for understated elegance… 🍾
I like to pair sequins and sparkle with more casual items. Sparkling top with jeans and combat boots or a hoodie with your favourite sequin blazer. Another good tip as already mentioned above is adding some jazzy christmassy earrings.
