The Social Brunch Club
What happens when you bring together a group of stylists, bloggers, photographers and creatives? With a new series of events; The Social Brunch Club, founders Emmeline (@theimageconsco) Karen (@missionstyleuk) & Michelle (@myfashionable40s) are working on finding out…
Last weekend we held our first Social Brunch Club at Bakesmiths in Bristol, bringing together some of our favourite creative people from various professions for an afternoon of networking, fashion chat and, naturally, cake.
It was the first in what we hope will become a series of events, allowing us all to chat in an informal setting, swap ideas and be inspired. One of Michelle’s favourite sayings is ‘real queens fix each others’ crowns’, and the idea behind this group gathering is to learn from others and empower each other.
We were overwhelmed with the fantastic response to this event – it was a full house, and everyone came with an open mind and a sense of humour.
For many of us the highlight of the event was a talk by author, stylist and award-winning fundraiser Caroline Jones, who has just written a book called ‘Knickers model’s own: A year of frugal fashion’, raising money for Cancer Research UK. (We’ll be featuring Caroline here on our blog very soon, so watch this space!)
The event was also an opportunity for us to speak to some of our favourite stylists, bloggers and photographers, some of whom you’ll see featured on this blog over the coming weeks.
If you’re interested in attending the next event, keep an eye on The Social Brunch Club page on Facebook for details.
