Would you love the opportunity to take a peak in a stylist’s wardrobe? Imagine the possibilities – designer labels and high street staples that hang in their closets. Luckily, our founder Emmeline and new stylist Hannah arranged to do just that, bringing our wonderful stylists together to raise money for meningitis and in particular, the charity ‘a Life for a Cure.’
Our Style Swap event held at Pata Negra was a huge success! The organised rails were filled with wonderful pieces from our stylists and guests ready to swap. The exclusive, designer rail filled with the likes of Gucci, Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors were available to buy with the money being donated to charity.
Beauty advisors, Karen and Holly from Estee Lauder were on hand to give professional advice and free make overs to suit your skin and hair colour. It was the perfect opportunity for guests to take advantage of their expert knowledge and have their make-up professionally done.
Unfortunately, our lovely stylist, Karen Goodbrand, recently suffered with meningitis. She bravely told her story on the night of how she fought to be taken to hospital after repeatedly being misdiagnosed. To raise money for the charity she held her first ever Gucci bag up for auction. Before the terrible ordeal she planned on giving the bag to her daughter however, she is passionate about raising money for the ‘a Life for a Cure’ charity – and she has another for when her toddler reaches 18!
We also heard from the founder of the charity, Michelle Bresnahan about why she set up the foundation and how much she has raised since – which is the fantastic sum of £467,334. 29. Tragically her amazing teenage son Ryan, was taken from her so quickly due to the illness and since has strived to raise awareness and prevent amazing young lives being lost to meningitis.
All guests went home with fabulous pieces from the rails and maybe a raffle prize or two. Our wonderful stylists were also available on the night to provide their expert advice in the swapping frenzy! A fantastic night raising money for charity.
Make sure you look out for our next event coming in January!
