The way we dress affects the way we act & the way people react to us

Did you know it takes less than 10 seconds for someone to create a first impression of you? The sixth blog of the First Impression series is about clothes. The clothes that you wear say something about you and let the people around you understand the persona you produce.

The clothes you wear, depends on your personality, which overall, creates your identity. Depending on your profession, the clothes that you wear are very important. If you work somewhere that you need to dress in a smart manner, then it’s obvious that you should dress in a respectable way. For example, wearing practical shoes, wearing your hair up and making sure if you wear a skirt, it is not too short.

Style quote 1If you are comfortable wearing and walking in high heels, then you do not need to worry as much, but remember that your feet will begin to start hurting if you wear heels every day! Wearing heels, in time, is very bad for the posture of your feet and can cause damage later on in life. Comfort is important when walking around, so maybe invest in a smart pair of loafers and wear a pair of heels every other day, to make sure your feet are well looked after. As mentioned in a previous blog regarding hair care, it was said that wearing your hair up in a work place will create a professional, yet minimalistic look. It goes without saying, but again, if you work in a professional environment within work, and if you wear a skirt, make sure it is not too short. You do not want to give off the wrong impression, especially within your career!

If you wear the right clothes within the different occasions you attend, then you will become more confident if you feel happy in what you are wearing. To pretend that you do not care about the clothes you wear, will suggest to others that you do not care about yourself. Clothes are a big part of daily life, which is why you should embrace it! If you would like to get involved and have your input, then please contact us, we’d love to hear from you.
