How to Pack a Travel Capsule Wardrobe
If like us you’ve absolutely loved the scorching Bank Holiday Weekend and you’ve booked your flights to an exotic destination in search of more sun, then our capsule travel wardrobe blog is definitely for you. Like most of us, we’d love to take the entire contents of our wardrobe on each trip however, lugging those 50 pairs of shoes – and counting – to Spain sounds much less appealing. The trick is to plan a capsule wardrobe that will see you through the 7-14 day’s with ease.
Here’s for the technical bit – what is a capsule travel wardrobe exactly? It basically means that every piece in your suitcase works together, packing those staple essentials. This way you pack less and every item is accounted for. Also, make sure that you love each piece so you will definitely want to wear the each outfit when you arrive.
This may include:
2 – 3 bikini’s
3 pairs of shoes – sneakers, sandals and wedges/ high heels.
2 handbags – straw bag which can double up as a beach bag also plus a smaller one for evenings.
1 knit – great for the air conditioned plane and in the evenings when the temperature drops!
1 lightweight jacket to throw on if the temp drops
1 oversized shirt – great for layering and wearing over a swimsuit or tucked into shorts.
3 tees – a striped one, neutral and bright colour
2 Shorts – denim shorts are great on the beach or strolling around the town.
1 jumpsuit – if you’re not a jumpsuit kind of gal replace with another dress.
2 dresses for a day trip or dressing up in the evening – same applies as above.
A pair of trousers – for the evening and the plane home.
A skirt – midi or mini – you choose!
Make sure you pack your sunnies, straw hat and your passport and you’re good to go!
