If the babysitter cancels or you simply prefer a night snuggled in front of the tele, don’t immediately grab your PJ’s. Keep it casual yet smart – a jeans and shirt, dungarees and a tee or patterned trousers and a knit.

Catch that film at the cinema. It might be dark yet he only has eyes for you. Again, keep it comfortable yet stylish, a pair of trousers and a blouse, a floaty dress or a shirt and jeans is the perfect cinema attire. We can’t resist the red spotty Miss Selfridge frock.

If he’s taking you on a date to the shops or for a lunchtime treat, keep it chic. We’ve got our eyes on the blush Jigsaw trench, over that floral blouse.

If you’re saving the romance for the weekend – it does fall on a Wednesday after all – you need to consider an overnight bag. Pack light. Wear a good pair of jeans with a knit or tee, boots and your  plaid winter coat. Simply pack a dressy shirt or blouse and pair of killer heels to turn from to day to night in an instant! Or a sheer dress will certainly do the trick. Maybe a new set of lingerie will be on the cards too.
